E3 2018: Watch Microsoft's Xbox One Event Livestream Right Here
E3 2018 is upon us, and Microsoft technically has the first big press event of the show, after EA did its own thing in a pre-show last night. Later on Sunday is also Bethesda, with Sony going on Monday and Nintendo on Tuesday.
Microsoft’s big Xbox One press conference starts at 11AM PT / 2PM ET / 7PM BST / 4AM AEST, and will probably run about an hour and a half to two hours if past years are any indication.
You can watch the live stream for yourself on YouTube below, or you can head over to Twitch if you prefer to watch it that way. You can also stream it straight on your Xbox itself if you like, given that it’s the weekend and you may be home to make that work instead of stuck and school or the office on Monday and Tuesday.
What to Expect
Microsoft comes into E3 2018 an underdog yet again, far behind rival Sony in terms of console sales, and soon to be passed by Nintendo and its red-hot Switch.
Microsoft’s future gaming plans, given recent comments by Phil Spencer about his goal bringing Xbox games to as many platforms as possible, and perhaps we’ll see expansion plans for popular Xbox programs like Game Pass, or more big titles becoming backward compatible.
But it’s the games everyone wants to see the most. Expect Microsoft to continue its partnership with EA, and even if Anthem is the star of EA’s own show, I expect it will have a large presence at the Xbox event as well.
There have been many, many rumors flying around about what we might see. The most likely is Halo 6, as it’s simply time for another Halo game to exist at this point in the series’ lifecycle, and it’s Microsoft’s biggest franchise by a mile. I’m hoping we see something new and exciting and different from a new Halo title if one does debut.
Some rumors have been shot down already (Sunset Overdrive 2), but others are still floating around like Gears of War 5 and Forza Horizon 4. I would also not be surprised to see at least a tease of Fable 4, currently being crafted by Forza Horizon’s developers.
I’m excited and stay tuned to my site here where I will be showcasing and commenting on the biggest announcements from the show.
